Grades of Shingles Sawn at Longfellow's Shingle Mill

Here at Longfellow's Cedar Shingles, we grade our shingles with the satisfaction of our customers in mind. Our grading standards have become a trademark to both commercial and residential builders. We are proud to offer the quality of the grades as outlined below.

We make our standard length 16”shingles in 2(two) thicknesses that are kept in inventory. That is a standard 3/8” thick butt and a ½” thick butt. These shingles are all re-butted and re-squared .

We also are able to saw longer and thicker shingles to fit your particular tastes and applications. Please contact us for pricing and availability.

3/8” Knotty Select ~ Graded to the bottom 5”: All solid wooden knots, no bark rings or loose knots, all solid wood

3/8” Select Clear ~ Graded to the bottom 6”: Clear wood with no knots

½” Knotty Select ~ Graded to the bottom 5”:All solid wooden knots, no bark rings or loose knots, all solid wood

½” Select Clear ~ Graded to the bottom 6”: Clear wood with no knots

The grades listed above are those which we stock at Longfellow's Shingles. For those specialty projects, we are also able to do custom orders, sawing shingles of various length and thickness. Shingles with no knots at all are also included in this grade.

Please call or Contact Us for prices or any other information.
